Learn Useful Slice Golf Tips For Straighter Shots
The golf slice shot is a common problem amongst most beginners. There are a lot of things that can cause this shot but the biggest culprit is having an outside to in swing path which leads to slice spin on the golf ball. Trying to swing too hard is one of the main things that can lead to an outside to in swing path.
Develop a smooth swing:
For most golf shots you want to use a swing that is at most 90 percent of your full swing. This will ensure that you are well balanced and will give you the best chance of maintaining control over the shot and having good swing mechanics. Another tip to keep in mind is to make sure that you keep the dominant hand passive throughout the swing as this can also lead to the outside to in path. An open club face can also cause a slice shot so make sure that your club face is square at the address position.
An open club face will point to the right of the target for right handed players. Also you want to make sure that you are not turning too early on the downswing so make sure that you have a lateral motion towards the target on the downswing and only rotate after contact has been made. The ideal swing path for straight shots is an inside to out motion, you want to keep the right hand (for right handed players) quiet throughout the swing and instead focus on pulling the left hand through the downswing. Tension is another major factor in poor golf shots and slices so be sure to relax before making the swing and also make sure to swing freely and do not try to guide the ball as this usually results in poor shots too. Try these tips to help you reduce the golf slice shot problems and shoot lower scores.
