There are a few main grip types that can be used in the game of golf and they are the interlocking grip, the overlapping grip and the baseball style grip. Most beginners start with the baseball style grip and this is often not the ideal grip to use. The baseball style grip involves holding the club with the right hand below the left hand and they are touching but do not overlap in any way.
The interlocking grip:
This can work best for most players as it offers a secure hold on the club and also promotes good leverage so you can get the most distance and club head speed. This grip is accomplished by locking the small finger of the right hand with the index finger of the left hand.
