Top Ways To Get Rid Of The Golf Slice Shot Fast

Slicing a golf ball is annoying and results in major loss of distance and poor direction which ends up costing you many strokes on the course. The cure for the slice varies depending on what type of swing and problem you have but ultimately developing an inside to out club head path is one of the biggest keys to curing the slice.

Another important thing to check is the club face at impact. If your club face is open then this can put slice spin on the golf ball. One way to solve this is to make sure that you setup to the ball with the club face square to the target. An open club face points to the right of the target (if you are right handed).

If you have an open stance then this can also promote a slice shot. Make sure your feet are aligned directly to the target and are not pointing to the left of it. Another factor that can lead to an outside to in swing path is casting the club by getting your right hand involved too much. It is best to keep the right hand passive during the entire swing motion, use your left hand to pull the club through impact to increase your chances of developing a more inside to out path that produces straighter shots.

A poor release can also cause slice shots. Make sure that you follow through completely before coming out of the swing. Let the momentum of the follow through bring your head up. Do not come up prematurely in order to try to see the ball, if you wait just a little longer you will still have plenty of time to see the ball. Remember that even the smallest flaws can magnify and lead to very poor shots especially with the longer clubs like the driver so you do need to have patience to learn proper swing mechanics in order to become more consistent.

Do not try to swing too hard when you are out on the course. Think about swinging at 90% of your full capacity for the driver. This will ensure that you have a controlled swing that still gets plenty of power so you can hit your drives far and accurately. It also helps to relax and reduce tension in your muscles as this will help you to execute a more free flowing and powerful swing. Being too tense can mess up your swing mechanics and lead to very poor shots so relax and try to have fun on every shot no matter how poorly you hit the last shot.
