How To Eliminate The Golf Slice Shot Fast

Many amateurs and even professionals suffer with hitting the dreaded slice shot. No one likes to hit this shot as it usually results in loss of distance and poor direction. The main cause of the slice shot is because the club head path is traveling from an outside to in line through impact resulting in the ball receiving a slice spin.

Coming out of the golf swing too fast can contribute to causing a slice so make sure you keep your head down as long as possible well after impact. One drill you can do to promote an inside to out club head path that produces straighter shots is by taking a closed stance or a draw stance and then making a normal swing. You can take this stance by simply making sure your feet are aligned to the right of the target (right handed players).

Also try not to use your right hand too much during the swing as this usually contributes to an outside swing path that produces slices. Another important tip is to relax and not tense up during the swing. If your muscles are tense during the golf swing then this can lead to poor golf swing mechanics which in turn can lead to slice shots.

Many people get tense over the ball because they care far too much about the results. Remember that golf is a game and is supposed to be fun so do not get too upset if you hit a few bad shots and do not step over a golf shot fearing that you might screw up. Even the best players hit terrible shots every now and then, what makes them great is their ability to accept poor shots, learn whatever they can from them and then focus on enjoying and executing the next golf shot. Try not to take things too seriously and just relax and focus on the pleasure the game has to offer to you.

Gripping the club too tightly which is also an early signal of too much tension in your body can lead to poor releases and slice shots. You do not need to grip the club tightly at all, in fact a light grip will work well in almost all situations. Also make sure the club face is square to the target at setup and not open as this will lead to slice spin being put on the golf ball. Slicing a golf ball can be a difficult problem to overcome. The ‘Dave Way Instant Golf Slice Cure’ system can help you in your efforts to hit the ball straighter and get rid of the slice. Click here to learn more.
