Cure a Slice With These 3 Simple Drills

More or less every golfer has at some point needed to cure a slice. If you're one of them then following these simple drills will get you hitting the ball straighter, maybe even with a bit of a draw. Read on to find out how to make that slice a thing of the past.

Slice cure #1: Tee gateway drill
Place two tee pegs in front of your ball, so they act as a gateway. As you swing the club make sure the clubhead passes through the gate. If you have an outside to inside (slicers) swing then you might find you clip the inside tee peg. Keep practising until you can hit all your shots so the clubhead goes through the gate and doesn't touch the pegs.

Slice cure #2: Golf bag drill
Set up your golf bag with the shaft of one of the clubs pointing out horizontally towards you. From there swing your golf club underneath and inside your golf club. By avoiding the shaft sticking out of the bag you are making the club come back to the ball more from the inside.

Slice cure #3: Three ball drill
For this drill you need to line 3 balls up in an angled line. The idea is that you then hit the middle ball without hitting the other two balls. The drill forces you to swing from the inside, which in turn helps you to stop slicing the ball. Once you're hitting the middle ball without touching the other two you'll be well on your way to hitting the ball with a draw.
