How To Cure Your Golf Slice Quickly And Easily

Slicing a golf ball can be a very frustrating problem. Learning how to correct a golf slice does not have to be difficult or complex. In fact the golf swing really is not that complicated and the causes of a golf slice are simple. A golf ball slices because of the spin put on the ball. An outside to in club head path promotes a slice spin so learning how to swing the club from an inside to out path is the key to curing the slice permanently. Here are some tips that can help you to hit straighter shots:

Tip 1: Keep the head down

You have probably heard this one many times before but it is very important because if you lift your head up prematurely this will cause the club head to follow an outside to in path which will impart slice spin on the golf ball. Your head should come up after impact and not before and should come up with the right shoulder (if you are right handed) as the follow through is completing.

Tip 2: Keep the right hand quiet

Do not try to muscle the club with your right hand during the downswing as this will result in casting the club which then results in an outside to inside club path that will produce slice shots. Instead feel yourself pulling the club with the left hand on the downswing. This will make a big difference in promoting an inside to out club path that produces accurate golf shots and will help to fix a golf slice.

Tip 3: Make sure the club head is square at the address position

Many amateurs setup to the golf ball with an open club face. Be sure to square the club face when you are setting up otherwise this will result in slices even if the club head path is inside to out.

Tip 4: Check your alignment

Make sure that your feet are pointing directly at your targets. If your feet are pointed to the left of the target then this will also promote the wrong club path that will cause a slice shot.

Tip 5: Check ball position

Make sure the ball is in the right position for the club you are using. If you use short clubs then the ball should be positioned towards the center of your stance. As the clubs get longer the ball position should get progressively towards your left foot and lined up with the left foot for the driver.
